Perfect for those who love the luxurious things in life...

The Series II Bailey Unicorn Cadiz is a top-end twin bed treat!

Welcome back to another Summer Spotlight with us here at Winchester Caravans. Last week we looked at a Lunar Clubman SR and the week before was the Bailey Unicorn Seville, both of which were 2018 models. We are now going to take a step back in time and look at the “Series II” Unicorn Cadiz, for those of you that still want a nice top of the range caravan but perhaps don’t quite have the budget for a brand new one.

The striking Series II Unicorn Cadiz was around in both 2013 and 2014. Although older, it still boasts a lot of the features found in the modern-day Unicorns. It was created with the Alu-tech bodyshell which is still to this day one of the better developments to happen in caravanning in recent years. Its robust, durable and with the insulation being nearly twice as thick as some caravans made with traditional construction. It offers greater protection against the elements all year round, being accredited with Grade III status.

The main gas locker is located at the side of the caravan. This is one of the first years in which this was introduced. The reasoning behind it, is that being over the centre of the axle of the caravan, it provides better stability when towing and also reduces the nose weight. However, unlike newer Unicorns, the Series II had two side front storage lockers, so there is still somewhere for you to put some of those outdoor items that you would normally keep in the big front locker box. Also new for this Series, the Unicorn Cadiz introduces a new wind-down spare wheel carrier. This new system offers a safer way of accessing the spare wheel, so you don’t have to sit at the side of the road you can just simply wind it down from inside the comfort of your caravan.

Series II Cadiz

Safety and security have been, and always will be at the forefront of the Unicorn range. The Series II comes with all the features you would expect a top of the range caravan to have. ATC, Alko 3004 Stabiliser, Alko shock absorbers and Alko secure wheel lock all come as standard with this caravan for your continued peace of mind. Other features such as a stable door, external electric and BBQ point are also included. The vertical skylight really does provide so much natural light inside and really does give a sense of “a room with a view”, especially when you’re parked at that picturesque beach, enjoying a glass of bubbly while the sun goes down. Final finishing touches such as the bold graphics and the one-piece protective front and rear bumpers really do polish off an already fantastic caravan.

Series II Cadiz

Moving away from the eye-catching exterior, we are welcomed into the Cadiz’s warm and cosy living space by bright upholstery and traditional wood finished internal lockers. A large shelf below the front vertical skylight offers plenty of space for personal touches to the van, and combined with the recessed front chest of drawers, gives more space throughout the living area. The main control panel is situated centrally in the caravan, next to the main door, and houses the control centre for the Alde wet central heating system, an opulent asset to any top of the range caravan. This radiator-based system works very similarly to the heating you would have in your home. It works by pumping antifreeze and hot water around the caravan allowing for all season caravanning, by providing a nice even heat across the caravan.

Series II Cadiz

When first released, the Series II Cadiz was available to order in two classic choices of upholstery, in Mozart, with chic purple curtains, abstractly patterned seating with lilac and mocha accents, or in Rossini, with more subtle cream seating and vibrant red floral cushions and curtains.

No matter which option is your preference, the scheme runs across the caravan in a well thought out manner, carefully sewing together the components to create a luxury home from home feel. It features not only across the seating and curtains but also the headboards and even a magazine rack which can be found in the lounge area, perfect for storing tokens from your current adventure or literature for planning your next one! Match this up with the loose, deep pile, drop In fitted carpets, and ambient lighting, the Unicorn II Cadiz is a practical caravan in the daytime and looks stylish in the evening too!

Series II Cadiz

When it comes to the evening, the flexible Cadiz layout gives you the option of a luxury two berth, with its comfortable twin fixed single beds, which are higher than other manufacturers, adding to the ease of use and storage space in the caravan beneath these bunks. Not only this, if you have a larger family, it becomes a four-berth caravan, as the front lounge area can be made up into a double bed if needs be, using a supported wooden frame with sprung beech slats which slides out easily from under the seating. There is ample storage space underneath these front seats, which with this series of Unicorn can be accessed conveniently via drop-down front bed box flaps.

Series II Cadiz

Stepping into the ergonomically designed centre kitchen, you can see straight away that this is an area filled not only with style but also with substance. Here you will find user-friendly split-level work surfaces finished in a sophisticated marble effect, which is easy to clean and looks very smart, as well as a 3-way Dometic fridge which blends in with its wood effect frontage. This is tucked in next to a fully functioning cooking area with a Microwave, and Thetford Caprice gas oven, grill and hob, with an electric hotplate, as well as a classy cocktail cabinet and separated upper kitchen cupboards, making organisation of the kitchen area effortless.

Series II Cadiz

Situated in a prominent position between the living area and bedroom area you come across a handy worktop area, which, for those who like to watch television, is perfect, since you can plug in the TV here and swivel it to the lounge area in the day to catch up on your soaps, and, lifting the dividing blind, turn it towards the back of the van and indulge in a bedtime movie marathon of an evening.

Series II Cadiz

The bedroom area is a cosy comfortable affair, with long single beds and lots of storage space, including the nice thoughtful touch of the pot shelves above each bed, perfect for that pre-snooze cup of cocoa or first cup of tea in the morning!

Series II Cadiz

Finished off with a stylish rear washroom with large wardrobe and circular separate shower with built-in lighting, as well as a heated towel rail, this caravan really is perfect for those who would like an opulent pre-owned van with all you could need for any occasion.
